Gear World

Created in May 2007, Gear World brings together all the companies of the Carraro Group specialised in the production of gearing: SIAP SpA (2 facilities in Italy), Turbo Gears Ltd (India) and the group headed by Minigears SpA.

Founded in 1976, Minigears SpA leads the world market in manufacturing high quality gears. In addition to the central headquarters in Padua, it also has plants in the United States (Virginia Beach) and in China (Suzhou).

Thanks to a high degree of specialisation in the small-scale steel and, in particular sintering gears, the company can boast a leadership position in the field of professional electrical tools, and a significant presence in the automotive sector.

With the creation of Gear World and through the integration of Minigears into the Group, Carraro is now extending itself in the business of quality gearing. In the past, this division was treated as merely auxiliary, but it now enjoys greater independence with far greater prospects for entering new markets.

Through Gear World – led by Tomaso Carraro, Chairman & CEO and by Alberto Negri, Managing Director – the Carraro Group intends to exploit the opportunities in a market currently recording extremely interesting worldwide demand growth trends, making the most of its global presence, with plants in every continent and a wide technological range (with skills both in sintered and cut steel components).
